princelyluminaryThe Hero of Dragon Quest XI...that's been raised to present as male since the day they floated to Cobblestone Falls and into Chalky's path. Originally put into a letter from her mother, Queen Eleanor, this works two fold, allowing her to hide better from the forces of Darkness in childhood, and now as a teen wandering the world in order to save it, strengthens her image as the Luminary...Erdwin was a man after all...wasn't he?
This upbringing has made El a little...conflicted though. She? He? They? The Luminary isn't sure what they are, or what they want to be.
It's made their Shypox worse, to the point where sometimes all they can do is sign or write what they want to say...and even then the young Luminary might freeze up.
Luckily, this confusion isn't stopping their quest to save the world, and for the most part her newfound friends and family are supportive...even if occasionally Rab calls her Elspeth instead of just El.
